Hi, I was wondering how mods for the Diablo games would work. I know that with Diablo 1 they were DAT files that were only usable with v1.07, but in the case of Diablo 2 mods, like the Gemstone mentioned here, I was wondering how that would work. Does it overwrite Diablo 2 files, so that you can't play the original? Is it single-player only? Does Blizzard detect it as unofficial software and refuse connections to battle.net? Are there separate servers built into the mod? Thank you, -- Henry Pizzinger Institution for the Mentally 31337 AzzMazta, Chairman & CEO www.xcopfly.com

That way there's no file swapping involved, just the need to make a second D2 shortcut :) > Is it single-player only? > It is. Well, you can play TCP/IP with others who have the same mod and same version. :) > Does Blizzard detect it as unofficial software and refuse connections to > battle.net? > Not that I know of, but that's whny you have two different shortcuts, so you don't try to connect to BNet while running the mod :) > Are there separate servers built into the mod? > No. That's against Blizzard's TOS. > Thank you, >
