TAKE HEED AND BEAR WITNESS TO THE TRUTHS THAT LIE HEREIN, FOR THEY ARE
THE LAST LEGACY OF THE HORADRIM...

SweetSpearGirl began her day today at the Crystalline Passage
waypoint. Act 5 of NM has been a long, slow trudge for her, filled as
it is with elemental-damaging ranged attackers. By dint of much
annoyance, many, many recastings of her Decoy and carefully
positioning herself around the edge of the dicier combats, she spared
both her life and Euyfura's without any deaths of either, and found
herself rescuing Anya.

The annoying barbarian's gift was even more useless than usual -

and SweetSpearGirl tried her hardest to conceal her incredulity and
frustration with Anya.
("Are you SURE you don't want me to beat her ass?" - "I'm strongly
considering it, Euyfura.")

In the end she showed her contempt for both Anya and her gift by
selling the thing straight back to her for approximately 3600 in gold,
and pressed on. Ignoring the red portal which led to Nihlathak's
domain, save only for a quick stop in to skewer Pindleskin and his
badly-behaved band of Baal-bothering bully-boy beasties ("try saying
that six times fast..." - "You try it first, Rogue."), she soon found
herself mixing it up with Spike Fiends, Reanimated Horde and other
troublesome beasties in the Ancient's Way, and then "onward and
upward" to the old gits themselves.

Who she had to reroll once by dint of Korlic having a Holy Freeze aura
and killing her. :P

Anyway, the Old Buggers offed and Our Heroine boosted to 64, she
equipped her new Stoneraven (have yet to work out whether upgrading
her Lycander's would be better) and entered the Keep.

The struggle to gain the WS Keep 2 waypoint was long and hard, but
eventually she managed it, celebrated with a Countess run (Ral and
Thul. Hmmm...) and decided to call it a night.
