I have started a new char on Bnet--anyone around? Amazon up to level 4 already, but waiting for others (not doing quests until others are also playing). Using standard game names and passwords.

Yep, what Mark said. This group was carpet-bombed by spammers a while back so everybody moved to AGD2. Although, that said, I don't see any of those cross-posts anymore, haven't for ages and they were done by nymshifters so my killfile wouldn't keep them out. Maybe this group is useable again? -- Shaun. "Build a man a fire, and he`ll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he`ll be warm for the rest of his life." Terry Pratchett, Jingo.

Maybe this group is useable again? : I think it is. Plus for some people accessing agd2 is difficult because it is not carried by all usenet providers due to not being setup correctly, from what I have heard. In any case, I still check both groups routinely even if I don't post often. ART too for that matter. To stay on topic, I'll mention that I just resinstalled d1 and d2 after having to reimage my computer. I know someone mentioned playing d1 again recently and I'd be interested, although my availability is sporadic at best. I'd still enjoy checking in to see if anyone is in 'the game'. On that topic, now that the trolls seem to be gone, what is 'the game' for d2, d2c and d1? Email is fine if it should be kept out of usenet. -dave

Maybe this group is useable again? I'm reading it with zero kill-filtering, and this group has been 'clean' for many months... Not much traffic, that's for sure, but also no deliberate spamming, besides the occasional drive-by spam with a score-group, or some random crap which turns up in many more groups. Regards, Patrick.

Hi Dave, 'The game', at least as far as D2-LoD ladder goes is still agd/agd. (I wouldn't normally mention it publically but it was mentioned in the other group recently and it has far more traffic). I don't see the game up often though. I think it used to be agdx/agd for off-ladder? I currently don't have D1 installed, having moved to a second-hand laptop (IBM ThinkPad R51) as my day-to-day machine last year. (It saves me $5/week in electricity costs and plays D2 just fine...) As I thought then. It seems that the old fueds between the members of the two groups (MH etc.) have vanished in the mists of time so it's probably best if the D2 players stay in AGD2 I guess. I still check this group even though I'm not currently playing D1. Cheers, -- Shaun. "Build a man a fire, and he`ll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he`ll be warm for the rest of his life." Well, my news provider does not carry agd2, and this place has been 100% clean for the last month that I have been monitoring it and posting in it, so AGD it is, for me.

I've been playing Tribal Wars for the last several years <http://www.tribalwars.net/> (browser based game), but I've been able to keep my D2 realm chars alive, just not playing much. Lots of familiar names on here...hard to believe it's been over 10 years since I got 'hooked' radiodude aka ClipperSoB aka Jim

I *will* play again (I did at the start of last year), just not at the moment. However, I download this group daily with my other newsgroups. Cheers, -- Shaun.
