On Battle.net, from level one onwards, and only together so we stay near each other's level. Does anyone want to relive the old days again? There's still something about D1 that's spookier and inspires far greater nostagia than D2 ever will - for me anyway. FYI - I was Wizardling in D1 and D2 back in the day, if anyone remembers me. Regards, Jamie Kahn Genet -- If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.

I got a sorceror up to level 30 or so last year, but I did it all solo and got bored. Bruce was there the first time I ever got a character to 50 and a lot of other people along the way, and it was a lot of fun. You're in NZ and I'm in California, so coordinating might be a bit of a problem, but I'd love to give it a go again. Hmm. A fresh install of Diablo 1.00 off the original CD and I can't connect to bnet at all. I get the "searching for fastest server" message, then a "cannot connect" red panel. Yes, I did tell my firewall it wouyld be OK. Any ideas? Mark. -- Verbing weirds language--Calvin

Sorry to follow up my own post and all that, but I figured out you need to dl the 1.09 patch and apply it yourself, rather than getting Diablo to do it from bnet the way it used to do. Mark.

In the end I just grabbed the standalone updater. I also opened all these ports: <http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?articleId=21109> HTH! :-) Regards, Jamie Kahn Genet -- If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.

Woot! :-) WEll, do you want to email me and exchange IM nicks? That might be the best way to quickly see if the other is around and able to play. -- If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.

I hope you'll be forgiving. I've a copy of Jarulf's guide at the ready so I know what shrines are what, etc. -- If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.

Hail, Wulf! Just killing some time and being sociable here while
waiting for D3 to amble along. I would love to play D1 again, but for
me, I just can't go back to 640x480 graphics. I tried a couple years
ago to load it up and play it again, but it was pretty pixelicious on
my 21" monitor of the time. Now that I'm running a 24" widescreen at
1920x1200... well, there's just no way ;-) You could rest your beer on
the flat top of a D1 pixel-square. Ah well, on.... to the future--->
hehe!
