Finally finished downloading the >3 gig game, started it and of course the first thing it has to do is d/l 692meg patch. Ok, fine, another couple hours later that gets done and it is time to see what all the fuss is about. Started playing somewhere around 7pm on Sat nite. Stopped about 1:05am Mon morning. Yes, that is 30 hours straight I played. Addictive indeed. I still keep bumping into things, the toon movement takes some getting used to. Yes OH OH OH Sam, I did choose LLane. Saw the name Tazmaniaque and a few others when I did /who justus. I am currently only using the free ten day trial. If I get totally hooked this week I may have to just suck it up and pay the monthly fee. Although, this may cause problems when cousin Tom finally gets back online and wants to play D2 again, there are only so many gaming hours in a day. One thing for sure that is way different from D2 - you can get 'lost'. lol Need a way to mark your trail so you can find your way back out of the forest. I sure wish D3 would come out so I could just forget about this 'other' game. :( Too much stuff to learn. Let's see, it took me over 5 years to get a fairly decent understanding of things in D2, from what I have seen so far in WoW it may take me ten years (or more!) to really know what I am doing in WoW. Just in case Orion or Ashensugar or anyone else is interested, my 'main' toon (so far) is a night elf hunter named Solosurly who is all the way up to level 12. I had tried a human mage first, but it just did not seem to 'click' with me. -- FUD 4 ever!

I think it was "ArtDent" <par@noyd.invalidname> that wrote something like... >Just in case Orion or Ashensugar or anyone else is interested, my 'main' >toon (so far) is a night elf hunter named Solosurly who is all the way up >to level 12. I had tried a human mage first, but it just did not seem to >'click' with me. A hunter's a fairly common choice for starting off I'd say and for good reason. They're a more forgiving class. If nothing else, if things go bad, you've usually got a 30 yard head start on many mobs you might want to run away from. ; ) With your pet to tank mobs and keep them off you and your ability to heal them and to damage the mob, you've got all the basics of party play right there by yourself. Of course, hunters have developed a bit of a bad rep. Because they can be so easy to solo with, some hunters don't really learn team play and when they get to stuff that does need a full party of 5 people to complete, they can screw things up. And thus the references to "huntards". But a well played hunter is a joy to behold. They can keep just about any mob out of the action by "chain trapping" them, use their pet to do damage, or to rescue some squishy mage, and they can do a hell of a lot of damage once they're geared up and have a good shot rotation going. Ashen Shugar -- The lions sing and the hills take flight. The moon by day, and the sun by night. Blind woman, deaf man, jackdaw fool. Let the Lord of Chaos rule!

OH! OH! OH! You saw Tazmaniaq? Ok I am putting Solosurly on my friends list and will at least say hello to you. My others are Joemamma and Zamqinyzyn. And my wife is playing as well and we are making a life of it when we get the chance. Hunter, just like Ash says a very good choice. And just to let you know that warriors for the most part have a different role in this game, more to keep the monters off of the others and focused on them. The game does take a long time to learn. Been at it for one year and 3 months now and I am happy with what I learned. There is still some more to learn. Like you said one can get lost. But just do whatever you want to do. If your playing partner decides he likes WoW then great. If not and you still play D2, hey that is great too. It's great to have a close alliance with some whilst playing. If you guys like both WoW and D2 and manage to find the time then bravo to that also. If you make it to level 22 or 23 before your trial expires maybe we can get a group together for your first dungeon experience - The Deadmines. Actually there is even one that you can hit earlier at about 20 or less called the Wailing Caverns. I have a level 20 that can go there and I think my wife might have one that she can level a little more to go there. We are pretty much playing in an area that approaches the current final phase but perhaps with the holiday weeked coming up we can make some plans to send our lower characters to hit the Caverns with some of the other guildmates. A party of 5 is the composition for these journeys. We shall talk some more Art. OH! OH! OH! Orion
