1. Reinstall the game, this time without TOWN KILL cheat.
Then connect to Battle.net. It will install a new patch in your diablo
directory. Any permanent cheats that you used to have will not work
so you may as well forget them.

Or just download the new patch directly from Blizzard's site.

2. If you have the cracked version of Diablo, the one that installs 
entirely on your HD, the patch may not work.
In this case the words of advise are "dig into you pocket and get
the legal version".

3. Your sound card may not be compatible with this game, even though 
you're using Win95 to play it. Get new drivers or a card that's fully Win95
compatible.

4. New drivers for your video card "may" solve the problem. 

5. Uncompress your HD if it's compressed.

6. Are you playing from Win NT? 

7. Reinstall the game, period.

8. Start praying...

9. If everything else fails "USE THE FORCE"...
