Patch doesn't fix disappearing items

The main bug I expected the patch to fix was the case where sometimes I
would pick something up and it would vanish into the ether.  This bug is
still present after the patch; I just lost a +18 ring of the zodiac (which
I found in a chest in Normal/Hell) to that particular bug.  I clicked on
it, the cursor turned into a ring, and then back into the normal cursor.
Poof.

Fortunately I had a backup, but I'm disappointed that they couldn't work
this out on the second try.
