My roommate and I cannot join each others game via serial cable. It didn't work with version 1.0 and it still doesn't work with version 1.02. When we try to connect it gives the message that my version of diablo is not compatible with the game creator's version. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Smitty

For a start make sure that either you BOTH own a Diablo cd, or you are both runing the spawned version. I ran into the same problem when I first started playing. Full plays with full, spawned with spawned. -Paul

have you tried connecting via null modem cable? Null modem is the same as a serial cable except that a few pins are switched so that two computers can communicate with each other. At least I think this is what a null modem cable is. Call you local computer store and see if they carry the cable. It's not like War2, where you can play the full game with only one. Because the game's so massive, the spawned installation can handle the first two levels only. You should be able to play the first two levels multiplayer, but ensure that you both choose the Spawn Diablo option. You can't connect a full-version Diablo with a spawned Diablo.
