Hello fellow gamers, I have a 166mhz Pentium/64mb system, and when I'm playing Diablo or Quake sometimes my mouse freezes up, forcing me to reboot my system. Anybody experience something similar? Thanks, Raja

166 mhz Pentium computer? Wow that's nice... What kinda mouse do you have? Also, is the mouse driver loaded in your autoexec.bat file or automatically loaded in Windows 95? If you can, find out if you can download a newer version of the mouse driver from the manufacturer. That might fix your problem. It could be a few diffrent things, if your modem is on the same or similar com port, then that could cause the problem. (com1-com3 and com 2-4) But that is usually just when you are online. If you are using the modem while the mouse freezes, then change the modem to a diffrent com port. Also is just your mouse freezing or is the whole system locking. Can the keyboard shortcuts work, or are they locked also. If that is the case then the directx may need to be reinstalled. Yet a third possibility is where the mouse is. If for some chance your mouse is on com 4, and you have an S3 chipset video card, then that may cause problems under 95. Also check to see what irq the mouse port is on, maybe another piece of hardware is trying to use that port. I hadn't had this trouble or any other with diablo until tonight. Installed the patch a couple of days ago. And hadn't played much. Tried to play modem games with a friend tonight. Twice had the screen freeze and had to reboot. The second time was pretty irritating as we had played an hour on level 14-15. Think there are some problems with the patch. This never happened before the patch.
