Patch slows video

Anyone else notice a slowdown in video since installing the patch. My
character moved more smoothly through dungeon before I installed the
patch. I tried it over LAN, BNet, and modem...same results.

Yes, on my ppro233/Matrox Millenium 4mb/64meg machine, when walking by
characters (the healer, griswold, etc), I can notice a flickering around
them, which was not there before..definitely slower..

Oh, yes, I have noticed the flicker, too. I was afraid my video card was
giving out. 'Nice' to know it is the software and not the hardware. (I
stress the quotes for irony alert.)

Yes, I have noticed a significant difference in performance since the
patch. IA am assuming that Blizzard was forced to pu in additional
code to do some cross checking to prevent various cheats and as a
result the game is less efficient.

If this is the reason then we have yet another reason to be thankful
to the cheaters for screwing up the game. They really don't understand
the fact that they don't have the right to spoil it alll for others do
they ?

Unfortunately I think that they do understand, and that having the
capability to screw things up for other people without having any
right to do so is part of the appeal to them. The part that they do
not seem to understand is why the rest of us wouldn't want to be in
the same town with them in real life, much less in the same building.
They do seem genuinely befuddled about why nobody likes them in real
life.

Many of them do seem to be able to huddle together and "be friends" to
one another, but of course, their so called friends would watch them
drown rather than risk anything to help them.

Yes, I have observed warps occur more frequently since the patch. A 'warp'
is observed when the action pauses briefly and then you find yourself across
the room. An uninted phase might be another way to describe the effect.

Yeah I am having a HELL of a time, before the patch I was always a single
Green
now I am so so slow..
1) Grads Blizzard Patch resolves alot of problems
2) I fear I have to go back to the old version and play modem or solo or
IPX
since the new video is almost unplayable..
3) I guess this may wipe my characters? anyways I agree with CHUCK,
can't go out have coffee and smoke a cig and have a book laying on my mouse
to move.
maybe if more people mention this it will get fixed..
till then cya all

Does seemed to be a touch slower now. I don't notice it as much on the
P133, but the other computer is a 486 100, and I can tell a difference.
