  That's an interesting point that you bring up.
1) Piracy is rampant.  Company takes radical measures.  That costs
money.  Prices go up.
2) Prices are too high.  Piracy increaces.
3) Piracy is rampant.  Company takes radical measures...

  If everything cost $10, then there would be mo piracy.  But, there
would be no software around because you're loosing money making it...
