In this case you would place your files (or to make it easier zip them all together into one meta archive) into your Dropbox Public folder, wait a few seconds for them to begin syncing with the Dropbox site, then rightclick on each and 'Copy Public Link'. Then paste this link into an email or Usenet post, and send. Once the files are finished syncing, your recipients can then start downloading them simply by clicking on said links, even if you've since gone offline (but finished syncing first, of course), as it's from the Dropbox site, not you. Dropbox also offers secure sharing (public sharing only generates non-secure yet random and hard to guess links - but is easier. So you'd use it for something like this, but not for sharing your tax records with your accountant), and photo sharing with a nice web UI for people to view your photos. -- If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.
