For now this is the only Backup program that will work
and most cheating seems to be eliminated

Features of the Diablo patch by Blizzard:
----------------------------------------
(These are in addition to the bug fixes mentioned in the update.txt file
that was placed in your Diablo directory)

1) If ANY two characters in the same game have the same item, and they
both are dropped, one of them will be destroyed. Yes, this means even
if two players legitimately buy the same item from the blacksmith, if
both players drop the item, one of them will be destroyed.

(Exellent cloned items exist but should be cut down by this, Money
may even have trade value again (at least to a larger degree than before
and what cloned "GODLY and KINGS and ZODIAC items do still exist will
end up only being traded for items of value and not things like 15 MAG
eillixers etc.)

2) All memory editing cheats/programs do not work anymore. This includes
Enigma's trainer (ouch... somone is gonna get alot of mail in the
morning) :-) This also includes just about every cheat I have seen.
(Yes, townkill is no more... at least for the time being)
NOTE: Blizzard seems to have encrypted memory... what this means is
that character editors or programs that edit a large portion of
memory
will not work, and you probably won't see a working version of them
for quite a while, if ever at all...

(I'm sure someone will come up with a new hack but for now the towns
are safe again and 400.000 hit points should be a thing of the past)

3) More to be added

I just want to say, that the patch's advantages by far outnumber the
disadvantages... I want to personally congratulate Blizzard on a job
well done!!! :)

(that was the writer of the page and I agree totally)
