Ya know, ive been a gamer for some time now. (Since the dino days of the 8088 proccessor). Anyway, i've played all sorts of games; its a hobbie and a addiction. In all that i've played, i have NEVER seen a game as corrupted as Diablo. Every other game ive seen, "hacking" never really worked because unless everyone had the same data file, the game would go out of sync. Not so with diablo. Diablo was truly destined to be a hallmark in online gaming. And it WAS, (keyword here is was.) But because its program design is so open ended, It was only a matter of time before the scum of society found a way to promote itself. Most of the gamers online now, did not grow up with the same sense of ethics that most of the old time gamers did. So battle.net and diablo have spun wildly out of control. The game is not as it was meant to be anymore. On battle.net, the game has or will become a place of anxiety, suspicion, paranoia, and a hacking contest to see who can make the most godly of characters. Why create a character with 1200 hit points or more? doing so is the same as deathmatching in Quake or Duke in god mode while everyone else is not. Why play? You know your going to win! But because the gameplay has been completely altered by people who call themselves "hackers", the balance of the game has been completly altered, and is severly lopsided now. On a side note, to these so called hackers. Anyone can hex edit. I was hex editing as a 8 year old. Just because you can diddle some data does not make you a hacker. In fact, data diddling is a classification all its own, and should not be confused with hacking. A true hacker is one who breaks into computers, not game files. Am i a hacker? No. Was I ever a Data Diddler? Yes i was, back in dos 2.0. Im disgusted with these cheaters who say "im not a cheater, Im a hacker". Bullshit, your a data diddler! The end result is still the same, a character running around who cannot be killed. I would also like to add, that i have a level 39 warrior, and i did not cheat, hex edit, or use any program to get there. I earned my levels, and experience points. Now that is more of an accomplishment and something to be proud of on b.net than a cheat character that took 2 mins to create. And thanks to every pk, tk cheats on b.net, i can hardly play with anyone nowdays because everyone things i might be a pk or tk when im quite the opposite. Diablo was great, now it's a tradgety. Its such a shame. To blizzard i'd like to say "Yea you had a great idea for a game, and it worked at first, but in the end, your idea went down in flames." -- ========================================== The one and only Shogun: Pc gaming addict, Carpenter, Ex Combat Engineer, and certifibly lost.
