Hate to break it to you...  But that's the only way to take 'em down that I
know of.  It's why hell/hell is meant to be played in groups.  It's also
the last chance for the fighter to seem cool.  The best advice is to play
in teams.  You could also try using a bow.  If your To Hit% is high enough
that should work, as the advocates don't have much HP.
