Well, I got my registered Descent 5 hours and 15 minutes ago. I've
played it for 4 and a half hours.(I had to eat). Now, I will comment
in the hope that someone from Parallax is listening. PLEASE PUT SOME
MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS IN THE CD ENHANCED VERSION. (sorry for the caps :).
Don't get me wrong, Descent registered is great. But there just
aren't any whizz bang differences between it and the shareware
release. So, as soon as the easy upgrade path to CD enhanced is
ironed out, someone tell me about it.

P.S. The game is a tad too hard. I finished level7 after two straight
hours of play, so I figured level 8 would be a relaxing level: well
its not. The game could do with a patch with an easier difficulty
setting(Fewer of those darn plasma gun guys). Don't even think about
putting out a "Nightmare" difficulty level.

Do you think Descent is too hard even on the lowest difficulty setting?!
If so, then I think you need to consider choosing a better control
configuration. Otherwise, change the difficulty setting. There are 5
different settings, so it should be easy or hard enough to meet almost
everyone's tastes.

Roger Cowley does have a point here. Whizzing through the levels on ROOKIE
level for a first pass through the game I found a marked increase in
difficulty from level 8 onwards. I've nearly finished all the levels now
but some of them are pretty difficult to say that this was ROOKIE level.
It's the type of robot you begin to face that makes it harder. Loads more
of those red homer missile guys and vulcan. The levels do get a bit easier
after a while.

However I did love the level where the KEYS are inside coloured robots you
have to shoot. They run around this tight little maze dropping mines while
some James Bondesque theme is playing.

Zip-bang, whizz. "Where did that little bastard go?"
