I've been a big fan of Descent ever since the shareware version of DI came out on disk. I had DI, DII, and DIII. Unfortunately, our house burned down a couple of years ago, so I'm Descentless. Replacing the game hasn't been a high priority, but I did enjoy it. Is there any source where I could buy a legal copy of the game? Mike

Several years ago I came into some money and decided it was time to get all the Descent games on CD, so I went to eBay, found what I wanted, and bid on them (and won). I've no idea if it's still avail there, but seems worth a try. I ended up with D2 and D3, each in the orig packing with the manuals, etc. -- jimbo@sonic.net "There are only 10 kinds of people in the world; those who understand binary, and those who don't."

Amazon.com has many copies! I strongly suggest you add Freespace1 & 2 also, and see the Freespace upgrade thread below! I'm excited about playing these new -- to me! -- Descent games. And be sure you get the re-compiled D2-XL or D1X as you'll need them to play Descent on modern computers. rms

Thanks to those of you who replied. I didn't think of Amazon or Ebay. On Ebay, I just bought the original Descent for Playstation for 50 cents plus $5.00 shipping and I have a bid on DI & DII for almost as cheap. This will keep me occupied for awhile. DIII and Freespace are available. I get those later.

Then sanity reestablished itself (but not before I got D2 & D3). It's easy to get hooked on bidding for stuff on eBay. -- jimbo@sonic.net "There are only 10 kinds of people in the world; those who understand binary, and those who don't."
