So I thought it would be a kick to play Descent 1 again, however,
I don't know if I have original disks or any other pieces.  Is there
a place to purchase or download Descent 1?
I think I spent a little bit of time in D2 and it might be fun too.

I got a hold of D2X-XL but no game files. (Well, I do have the
D2Demo files but D2X-XL just crashed right after the movies)

You may want to try ebay or Amazon.

Google for it, and there is ebay and amazon. (Shady side is P2P of course.) 
Easy to find it and it is cheap where ever you find it. The demo files are 
free and you get a few levels to play that way to try it out with.
