D3 with Windows xp SP2

I am having great difficulties with D3 and Windows XP SP 2. My system won't
run D3, regardless of screen resolution and use of compatbility mode. I
either get messed up graphics or the game just won't run (an "invalid
CD-ROM" error pops up and, with acknowledgement of the invalid message, I am
taken back to the desktop). I have tried several reinstallations without
success.

Any hints?

Thanks!

Maybe don't like DX9c ?

I have couple old games from between 1996-2000 having great difficulties
with Windows XP SP 2. It useless games. Nothing can fix it unless use
Win98SE with DX6 to DX8 and use older video cards to suit for these games.

The last time I tried D3 I had no major issues. Try the planetdescent
forums also.
