MMh, I just grabbed the key, flew around and killed some bots then there
was a trigger in an alcove. I seem to be unable to make a screenshot in
D2X-XL of the map (at all) so I've uploaded a rared save game. Do not
overwrite yours when unpacking it. I'm positioned right in front of the
trigger you need to open the walls:

Why don't you shoot the switch?

???

I positioned myself in front of it so he could use my save game and check
the position on the map and shoot it himself to see how it work. Of course
I know how to get out of there.

What I don't know is how I do make a screenshot in D2X-XL. Any ideas?

I'm just frustrated cause ALT+F9 does NOT work in map mode!
BTW is that slash instead of a backshlash intentional?

Don't you think it would have been a better idea to write an e-mail
saying 'taking screen shots with Alt+F9 doesn't work in map mode'?

I will look into this. ;)

Not really, since a lot of ppl might be interested in that who also might
have wondered why it wouldn't work. Besides this ng needs all the traffic
it can get.

What regular D2X-XL would need automap screenshots? I had thought you
were smarter than that. If I had been notified of that bug, I'd have
had it fixed already. Wondering about a bug will not get a bug report
to me. I am working on it, but I cannot yet read the minds of all
D2X-XL users. Apart from that you have my e-mail address and we had
contact there already. But you chose to scream at me in a public news
group like a 5 years old who doesn't get immediately what he wants.
Tsk, tsk.

It's a useful feature of the original game and since D2X-XL is supposed to
be a replacement for it to be run on current machines I don't see no reason
to drop this feature especially as there's a lot of new features that
haven't been there in the original.

> I had thought you were smarter than that.

No need to get personal. I was surprised to see the old screenshot button
not working and I only "screamed" cause you a) thought I needed the save
game and b) you did not tell me to RTFM in your initial reply so I had to
ask again.

As I said before I really do appreciate your hard work on this and I did
NOT expect you to fix the bug within the hour. So let's calm down and wait
for the next version.

I have to *tell* you to read the manual to find out about program
features? lol.

Mir reichts jetzt langsam. Du hast Dich daneben benommen und versuchst
jetzt die ganze Zeit, Dich zu rechtfertigen und rauszureden. Ein
einfaches "hey, ich war frustriert, sorry" hätte einen wesentlich
besseren Eindruck gemacht!

I said about that I've had enough, that Moon had been misbehaving and
instead of simply saying 'sorry' now tries to find lousy excuses for
his behaviour.

Similar to your lousy excuse for simply not realizing that I wasn't the one
asking for help in this thread? Adds a little irony to you calling me
stupid, doesn't it? Also if you can't read a sorry into my "I'm just
frustrated" nor my appreciation of your hard work in my previous post then
I can't help it.

Besides, I don't consider overlooking a key combo (that strangely differs
from the original one, btw) in a readme lousy behaviour contrary to calling
other ppl stupid in public of course. Especially when this "argument" is
being used again as an excuse for not supporting a feature (map screenshot)
of the original Descent 2 because the port is *all about the graphics* (if
I interpret your "What regular D2X-XL would need automap screenshots"
correctly).

I also suppose it wouldn't have killed you to save me from repeating my
question by answering one posting earlier with RTFM (which is also a nice
and friendly reply, right? Read the FUCKING manual!).

Of course you can do whatever you want with your port even weasel your way
out of this and simply say that only stupid ppl would ask for a map
screenshot in D2X-XL. That makes only two so far, me and Roger Seibert.
You've blown this thing way out of proportion, see if I care. EOD.
