I was surprised to find these are still available: http://www.cwonline.com/store/view_product.asp?Product=1108 I tried an early version out in Descent long ago, but it was quite awkward. Anyway, a nice blast from the past! rms

However, it was a bit awkward as you say - not enough give involving how far you could slide or rotate the orb. I thought the spring tension was a bit high also. Mine came bundled with a free copy of Forsaken so I must have bought it about six years ago.

Funny, I personally could never get the hang of a kybd/mouse combo in 3D environments, way too awkward for me, but took to the orb like a fish to water, especially in Descent. Must be how the brain handles certain translations. I found some dude in Fla that was selling them new for $20. Bought 6. I remember only wanting 5 but receiving 6 because they were packed 6 to a case. ra

It works great for me, however, in multiplayer games, the guys using the joystick KB combo kick the shit out of me.
