Descent3 question

Is there anyway to disable the opening videos when
Descent3 starts up? If I delete the movie files
then the main menu screen flickers uncontrollably.

Add the command line option "-nointro" (without quotation marks :-) in
the launcher.

Then go to:

The Descent Bulletin Board http://www.descentbb.net/phpbb/

which will start you off on a course of discovering all the little tricks
and tips that we've gathered together over the years :-)

Oh, another good place is Moon's site http://moon.descent-3.com/ for
single-player stuff

which quite likely will also be mentioned in the D3 FAQ as was the tip with
the command-line parameters:

You're not going to tell me searching the DBB would yield the info he's
looking for as fast as reading the FAQ does, are you?

Whatever.

Of course not - but it will get people into the whole D3 (and D1 and D2)
community thing and we need all the new blood we can get with a so-called
"obsolete" game like the Descent series.

Sorry about the 'tosser' - I was a bit cranky with pain earlier.

Why don't you folks please come back. I really hate BB format.

I don't like the BB format either (which is why I post here) but, very
occasionally, I do post to the DBB only because 99% of pilots use it and
it's the only way to contact some people - although I have most of my
conversations online (Vortex, Gate and the defunct PXO).

The reason I pointed Buzzy to it was *because* most pilots are there and it
will get new players into the community (after completing D1, D2, D3 and
Mercenary the only place to go to keep on with Descent is online) [1]

[1] Yes, I know there are single player missions out there but they are a
finite resource (even if they can be fun :)

I did not mean to be critical. Just hopeful I suppose. I too forward
people from this group to the BB since it's the best place for info.

Thanks
