Finaly got DSL and began to play D3 online using "http://d3.descent.cx/tracker.d3" to find games. I'm getting completely dominated and probably look like an idiot in some of the games....buy hey it's fun. Sometimes you just gotta laugh. The game is pretty old now so I suspect that everybody still playing online is pretty good...hence my problem. Still a great game though. I've been messing with it since it was released....had a couple of Voodoo2's in SLI. Guess I'll keep trying...the only way to go is up.

I haven't played MP descent since I was using a 28.8 dialup connection. I'm itching to see the difference using broadband. ZP

If you are a low ping (under 100) and the others arte higher pings, learnt o compensate for the lag by shooting ahead of the user. If it's the other way around where you have a higher ping then youhave to shoot behind the ship. It's easy once you get the hang of it. I'm itching to see the difference using broadband. > ZP not really. about 2 years ago i used cable broadband, play heavy into D3 at my local server i got LOWEST ping i had 26 - 95 ping while rest of them about 250-400 pings they beat me sounds too easy all the time. it very frusrating because when i shoot the ship there, the ship is actually not there but they can shoot me very very easy :( i really don't understand that...i think something to do with balance of network code is poor in D3 aaah now i remember if you see jumpy ship that is :) before that 4 years ago i used dial up bout 250 pings and i play so good than i did in broadband :(
