descent 1 bots?

Having played through D1, D2 and D3...I decided I was ready for multiplater
action....but every time I play DM in D1 (haven't been able to play D2 cause
My uncle passed before he could return my cd and his son is still looking
through his stuff for it..oh well)...I get slaughtered quite ruthlessly...so
I decided to see if I could find some bots to practice on.
Unfortunately...Interplay doesn't seem to support the game anymore and the
old descent homepage looks like it has ceased to exist.  Any thoughts on
where I might find bots?  Much thanks in advance

AFAIK there's even no bots for D3 in case by 'bots' you do speak 
computer opponents that act as real multiplayers. The only thing you can 
do is practice against real players which will get you pounded quite a 
lot in the beginning. Still, you can only learn when fighting better 
players.

There is one level for D3 called "Firing Range", that in 
a way trains your skills. Anywy, playing human opponents
is different...
Look at www.descent2.com/hoppe. That site is dedicated to
D2, but it offers lots of hints for D1.

quite a good training for reactions and evasion, though a bit different than
multiplayer is to play the missions with insane difficulty.
you can increase the diff by not saving in the levels and restarting if you
die
