I'm wondering on the prices that people have found on the various high
end controlers (not just joysticks) I'm sure this cold help someone else
out there besides me. Also, what sort of features do they have? (exact
number of buttons and such) and how do you rate them?

Lets see.. what controlers are out there (Though I'm not sure of the
names of them all)

We just put in support for the i-glasses head mounted vr system
from Virtual I-O. It is a well implemented lightweight system
with great optics and ease of use. I'm not sure about the price,
but it is quite reasonable. They will be shipping shareware Descent
with it, and support for the helmet will be in shareware 1.3.

I'm going to erase the reply markers in front of all of the products because of the
way my newsreader likes to post. If that pisses anyone off, I'm sorry, but too bad
for you.

=JOYSTICKS=
FCS :$70 -90
Flight Control System
4 buttons, a hat

PFCS :$140 - 160
Pro Flight Control System
Same as FCS but MUCH stronger springs, more metal parts, and heavy metal
base.

WCS Mark II :$ 100 -120
Weapon Control System
6 buttons, throttle (companion to FCS), plus a 3 position switch that allows you
to basically have 18 different functions instead of 6. Runs as a Master to the FCS
and PFCS, but as slave to the FLCS.

F-16 FLCS :$150 -170
A programmable joystick with 4 buttons, plus a dual position trigger, and four
5 - position (actually 9 - position) hats. All buttons are programmable and can
act as the Master for the RCS and WCS.

RCS:$
Rudder Control System
Nice little companion rudder pedals for the FCS, WCS, FLCS, PFLCS, or TQS

F-16 TQS:$
A new and seemingly completely different version of the WCS
It has several buttons or switches (not sure which) plus it has a trackball.

Gravis Phoenix:$ 120 - 180
24 buttons, throttle (digital only, I think)

Logitech Wingman Extreme:$
Same number of buttons and hats as the FCS

CH Flightstick Pro:$ 100 - 130
A hat and 3 buttons plus a trigger button.

CH Pro Pedals:$
Rudder Pedals, basically.

=3D Pointers=
Logitech Cyberman:$
A simple 3D mouse. 3 Button, and vibrating response (hits and such)
This thing is supposedly not very good, and has a cheap feel to it.

Space Ball:$
A 3D 'mouse'

=VR Displays=
CyberMaxx:$ 799 (retail)
Allows +/- 45 degree vertical movement tracking, and 360 degree Horizontal
tracking. Uses an interface through the com and VGA ports.

VF1:$
Conncects to VGA port, split screens.

Maybe it's just me, but the above seems a little confusing. Are you
saying that _only_ shareware 3.1 will support the i-glasses? Or
will shareware 3.1 _and_ the reg. version _both_ support the
i-glasses?
