Descent bug in demo recording??
#761

I tried to record demos on Level 7, 1.1 Shareware Descent,
and the program exits to dos with an error like: "moon03.bbm
not found" when I try to play them back.

Does anyone know what the problem/fix is? Is this a know bug?

I've found the problem: with 4DOS disk swapping
turned on, there are not enough open file handles
for descent to do the demo playback.

The fix is to add a FILES=40 or whatever to the
config.sys file. Alternatively, leave XMS swapping
on and load himem.sys. This will also allow you
to load a small smartdrive cache, which, given a slow
disk like mine, doubles playback speed.

Hopefully a note about this will find its way into
	the descent documentation.

Thanx for the explanation.... I just got the registered version and I it crashed
on me with the same thing. I thought I had a bugged version, because I couldn't
load my save game anymore (of level 7)

But great news about the registered version....You can save INgame :-)
