For mouse/keyboard combo I have been using this setup. Mouse
controls side to side and up and down(standard setup). I have a
3 button mouse so button one controls lasers(primary weapon),
button 2 controls missles(secondary weapon) and button 3 controls
flares(don't really need them). Keyboard setup. A accelerate. Z
decelerate(preset I think). S left slide, F right slide, D down
slide, E up slide. Excellent movement and no control problems
really. Worst control problem is the hardware. 486sx/25 with
a paradise 256k video card. Yes Descent runs(just finished last
night)but the constant slow downs can make life difficult.
