Kali will not run under Windows 95.  You must run it from DOS mode.

this is just a guess since I do not use win95, but maybe the win95
built in networking is interfering with kali.  check all the settings
you can find about ipx or networking, and make sure they are off.

I had actually figured this out prior to reading your post.  It turns out that 
I forgot that I had IPX/SPX and IPXODI loaded in the Windows95 networking 
configuration.  I have a small ethernet here as well as PPP.  Thanks for the 
help.

What I want to know is when will Descent directly support TCP/IP?  Several
new games (Havoc) for instance, supports TCP and runs directly under
Win95.  Although Kali works fine, it's a royal pain.  Anyone know why
Interplay hasn't added TCP support to Descent?
