We seem to be having alot of trouble getting the multiplayer to
work consistently on our IPX network. The only way to get it to
work was to only load IPX/SPX (VLM seemed to be causing the
initial conflict) and the net board stuff, which means custom
configs for everyone. Ok, that's not too bad. However, it
seems like only some people can start games, otherwise they
don't show up for the other players. If I start a game,
everyone can see it and play. If another guy starts a game, it
does not show up in my select game box. And if I do start a
game, and have to exit for some reason, I can't get back into
the game that I started. It will hang at the "Waiting for
signal from ??" message. And one machine, even though it's
configured identically to all the others, never sees any of the
net games. All of these machines never have any problem
connecting or reconnecting in D1. I've tried specifying the
node addresses, but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
Anyone have any insight on these problems? Or is it just
something screwy with our setup? By the way, we're using
Netware version 4.1 and all the people attempting to play our
located on the same router.
