Descent hangs on 486sx Cyrix

Hi
I can run Descent on a 486dx with no problems , but when I run it from
home on a 486sx Cyrix it hangs after the game starts and I try to move the
ship. Turning off sound and joystick doesn't help
Is there a bug with the Cyrix chip set ( I thought I saw a thread about that)

I wish I could give you more information, but you can rule out a basic incompatibility (unlike Heretic).

Sorry about the last post, user error. Anyway I am having the same problem w/my 486DLC40 cpu. The game runs for at most 10 seconds then it hangs. I've tried a clean boot and it doesn't help. But I did find that I can run it under windows NT. I can tell it is a little slower than running in dos (at least from what I can tell in the 10 sec dos game) but at least it runs.
