Those of you who are wondering how well the Win95 versions of Doom and Descent (or Quake and Descent II) will play on your machine should check out Microsoft Fury3 trial version. OK, its not Doom or Descent (its based on terminal velocity's engine) and it has a stupid name (for me a Fury III will always be an old man's Plymouth), but it has its moments (the weapons are cool and everything you destroy explodes dramatically) and it actually plays quite well, even on my 486DX66 with 10 megs of RAM. If you play it in a small window, the game just flies, but it's hard to see some objects. Playing it in full screen is almost as fast, especially if you switch to "panoramic" view. So for those who want to play a Win95 native 3-D action game while waiting for id and Parallax to jump on the bandwagon, check out: ftp://www.microsoft.com/deskapps/public/games/Fury3/FURY3X.ZIP
