I'm having difficulty with the sound during multiplayer mode. Whenever I'm connected to the other player, either by serial cable or by modem, I can hear the music fine, but the rest of the sound is reduced to mere clicking. I'm using the commercial version of Descent and a Sound Blaster Pro card. When I had the shareware version, I had no problem with sound, it just didn't support the Wingman Extreme joystick. The version 1.2 upgrade fixed the joystick support for me, but did the same thing to the sound. Other than yelling at me for asking a FAQ, can anybody help? -- Michael Oxner nstn2539@fox.nstn.ca

I had this problem too -- it's either an IRQ or DMA conflict (can't
remember which). Set your sound card to use a different IRQ/DMA, and
make the same changes in Descent by running the setup program. This
should fix your problem.
