OK, I beat level 7 on rookie mode. I use a keybord for a controller. (I found that the "Microsoft Natural" keyboard is better than my old-flat Fuji.) I had to use the save feature quite a bit. Refrain from using your vulcan gun on anything but the bad boy. You can use the entrance tunnel to snipe at him. Don't get greedy. I took shots at him that were clearly in the cross-hairs. If you hit his arm you've hit him. On my system the stereo sound appears to reflect off of the wall of the tunnel I'm in. I hear left and know he's to my right. You'll need to be able to tell when he's close and far away to access the goodies in the central cylinder. (I couldn't go aropund the cylinder more than once without smacking right into him.) The monster is consistant. If you nail him and he starts disappearing then back off. (Your position is vunerable when he "vreebs".) I was nailing him with the lazer at quad, level 4. I could only hit him with one side of the lazers. I hit him and he vreebed out. Then I heard the gasp, and the countdown to destruction. Patience is the key, and saving. -Russ

Are you sure you don't have your stereo effects reversed? Try the
"reverse stereo" option in the Options menu (hit F2).
