You should try running descent without any disk cache software. This is especially true of 4 meg systems. I have a intel 486 dx2/66 4 meg system and I have to have a clean boot with just my sound drivers and nothing else to get everything to work all the time. Other wise I run low on memory and get into problems. You can simply hit f5 to not use autoexec.bat and config.sys or f8 to select only thedrivers you want to load.
