By George, you've almost got it! 

Just try to remember that when a Millenium is 'born' it HAS, by
definition,to be in the past!

Therefore we can never 'enter' a 'new' Millenium as such, and we can
only identify a span of time (1000 years) as a Millenium when that span
of time has passed!

Now concentrate hard and I'm sure you'll grasp it this time;-)
