D2X problem

Been running D2x on a 1.8 GHz machine for a while, recently loaded it
on a 2.4 GHz Athlon machine, where it runs great partway through a
level then just goes away. 

No warning, no errors codes, just "poof!" and it's gone.

Tried D2x-sdl, D2x-gl, and the original D@ setups, no help.

Anyone have any suggestions? Is there a log file somewhere?

D3 runs fine.
