1. This stick is very accurate - as long as my hand is not tired, I have a
feeling of total control.
2. It doesn't, IMO, have that 'plastic' feel to it and once it's on the
table it stays there.
3. All buttons are placed perfectly for me - for example, on the Precision
Pro there's a tophat and 2 buttons in the sides below. I can't reach those
when using the hat. On my 3D Pro, with one button straight below, this
means I can slide and fire secondaries at the same time.
4. The twist is God's gift to the Descent'er (well at least me ;-), which
helps give me the earlier mentioned control feeling.
5. The 3D Pro is extremely durable, the only repairs I've ever had to do was
exchanging the dipswitches in the tophat.

Hmm can't think of more right now but I'm sure there's a lot more reasons.
;-)

Actually I'm not that experienced with other sticks because I fell in love
with this one shortly after it was released. I now have 3 of them and take
care of them like they're my little babies. :-)

My setup:
fire primary: joy trigger
fire secondary: joy button 2 (below hat)
bank: joy twist
slide: joy tophat
cycle primaries: joy top side button
cycle secondaries: joy bottom side button
forward: a
reverse: z
slide up: s
slide down: x
afterburner: caps lock
flare: space

I mostly slide up and down on the keys, which makes it easier to triple
chord. Plus, in Descent 1 and 2 I could only slide in one direction at a
time with the hat.
I don't use the throttle and base buttons.

Hope this helps a bit. :-)
