I havn't tried tho I tried dropping these in those monster-generation things (the purple things that keep turning 'em out) so I wouldn't be surprised (the thing creates a monster, and BOOM!). But it never went off... Mechs kept flying past the bomb and nothing! As I recall I ended up blowing it up myself (heh heh heh). The only thing I've ever found that could really set prox. bombs off is myself (oops). Does anyone get good use out of these things? Maybe if there wasn't any time limit, they'd be more useful. Myself, I almost never use anything except the laser. The spread weapon doesn't do a lot of damage, particularly compared to a level 4 quadlaser. The vulcan cannon eats up a lot of ammo and doesn't seem to do much extra damage; plus, that noise seems to slow my computer down sufficiently that I can't aim (Oh, if I only had a Pentium). The missiles... I always save up the missiles for a special occasion and never get around to using them. Maybe the registered version only weapons are more useful. The FAQ mentioned that certain weapons are better in certain places... anyone have any advice on this matter? Still, just using my laser works for me (kinda like in DOOM where I almost always use the shotgun (works great and plenty of ammo); I was kinda disappointed in DOOM II where they stop giving you shotgun ammo and so I have to use the plasma rifle and so on. 'Course, there's a cyber-demon in every level after about 10 and the shotgun doesn't work very well against him, even double-barreled. Works against everything else, though). ----------------------- - Christopher Twigg - Check out the Descent Home Page!
