What everyone is talking about on the net right now is the shareware
version. Sometime in January Interplay will release the full version
which you will have to pay for. The shareware version contains the
first seven levels whereas the commercial release will contain 30 levels
as well as extra enemies and weapons.

You can download the shareware from:

ftp.cdrom.com/pub/games/incoming/descent1.zip
ftp.cdrom.com/pub/games/incoming/descent2.zip

The two zips come to about 2.8 megs total and take up around 7 megs
(I think) once they are exanded.
