The messaging of who you : killed, who killed you, who killed themselves, and total kills from : everyone from the game is great. The auto-macro definitions on play : plus leaving and entering a network game as it's going on is a great : improvement over Doom and Heretic. The network game setup is so much : better than Doom and Heretic again. Up to 8 players and running to : the exit adds yet another plus over the Id products. Big minus is : controlling and disorientation from playing. Gives you a headache : very, very quick. : : Doom: Great game. Best sound. Hard configuring the netplay the way : you want it. The truth is though, it still remains the king of the : net games. Only game that I did not get tired of playing. It is by : far the funnest, most addicting net game out. I had played it the : most, and I still do not get tired of It. : : over a 20 hour (two days, eight hour break), here is the break up of : it: : Heretic- 2 hours : Descent - 8 hours : Doom - 10 hours (we would have kept on going, but had to close the : network down sometime). : : Comments: 4 players played, so we still have to see Descent in a 8 : player mode and 2 or more network games going on at a time. Already : tested that with Doom and ran into no slowdown problems. Heretic was : just to boring to really test it. Also, using Chicken graphics on : Doom was a great addition. I must say that Heretic and Descent were : shareware copies so We really haven't seen the full effect of them. : Thank You : : Exactly. Once we got past the com port/soundcard conflicts with Descent and the hat problems it has superior net play. If id releases an improved net module with heretic that would be a great incentive to buy the game. This game has a real future on those MBBS systems with the multiplayer area.. 8 slots will fill up quick on some of those boards. We've already decided to register and are hoping parallax plays ball on the editors. Doom with dynamic net games: is it too much to hope for in the near future? That and a player increase to 8 or 10 or so would insure its dominance over even 3d dramamine fests like Descent for me. -- sin...@ether.tyrell.net \ "I'll be taking these Huggies.. and even...@metrobbs.com \ whatever cash ya got." -Nicholas Cage dn...@aol.com|71763.1767@ci$.com \ "..red salmon.
