Weve been playing Descent for a while now and Im impressed. Those Paral lax guys (and girls?) really made a worthy successor to Doom. This is the great multi-player game weve been waiting for! We still play Doom to work off our aggression (Aaaah, nothing beats the impact of a shot-gun at close range), but Descent is a winner. Since Parallax will issue a patch Ive got some suggestions (Yes, Adam another wish-list): - The tilting is much to slow! Especially the forward/backward. It takes ages to scan a room... The following would improve multi-player games: - Why do players present in a exploding mine loose there hard earned gadg ets? Its unfair! There is no way, players not in the vicinity of the exit, are going to reach it in time. If someone is bored with the current level let him blow the reactor, but do not make the others pay... - Unlike some, I *do* think the gadgets of a defeated player belong to th e conqueror. There are still enough weapons around for the looser. I do f eel though, there is a annoying shortage of shield boosters. If two playe rs are of equal skill, the winner will have a very weak shield and he can t get a shield boost anywhere (or am I still missing some secret doors?) . When Im defeated, I try to locate my killer (sometimes, still gathering my gadgets ;-) and finish him of. This is easy: Ive got a strong shield and hes got none... 5-4, 5-5, 6-5, 6-6... The rest has been said before... I am going to register the game anyway (no blackmail from me). Will there be a special (cheap) network deal? I might, possibly, be able get it installed in a computer-room at my university, maybe, perhaps.
