Welcome to the world of Thrustmaster equipment.  I broke 2 hats off
playing Descent, before I finally just broke down, bought a WCS MKII,
and set up a config that only uses the hat to switch missles.

Hopefully Thrustmaster will re-design the thing to be more durable, but
for now, you better just memorize that TM tech-support number, because
you'll go through a lot of hats playing this game.

FWIW, They do have excellent support, and they will get a new hat switch
out to you in a couple of days.  It's a snap to install, just unscrew
the handle, solder a couple of wires, and put it back together.  10
minute job tops.  It's still a pain in the butt though...
