Red alert 2 movie problem

Hello, I just install Red Alert 2 with the Yuri expansion, and I am having
video sound cut in and out at random. I already updated my GeForce 4 4200
drivers, and also updated both Red Alert 2 and Yuri to the latest version.
I have a Gateway Pentium 4 2.53, with both a DVD and an CDRW drive. The
computer is about a year old. I also have 512 Megs of Memory. Does anyone
have any other ideas how to fix this, it is real annoying to have the sound
cut out all the time.

P.S. The game itself, and in game video's work fine, it is just the one like
the introductory movie...

Set your sound accelleration to either Basic or None - depending on
which one you prefer (or works - most versions of Bink Video crash
with zero sound accelleration).

Tried all the acceleration settings in the sound menu in the windows control
pannel, it made no difference. I could not find any settings like that in
the program itself.
 Any other ideas?

In that case, you may ahve a hardware conflict of some sort.

Open up "MSinfo32" (from the Run menu), and open the Conflicts/Sharing
entry under Hardware Resources. If your audio card, video card, or
hard drive is charing a resource with another device (usually with the
other two items), then you are bound to enter some problem.

Wouldn't be sure exactly how to fix a hardware conflict with plug and
play devices. If you can, it might possible to remove and reinsert
the card in a different available slot (with a standard boot process
between), to force the computer to assign an unused hardware resource.

Other than that, problems with Creative Labs soundcards are generally
hit-or-miss. You can either work around it using the common methods,
or it won't fix at all - as a last resort, you might have to get a new
sound card.

He never actually said he had a Creative Labs sound card.

You should try updating the drivers on whatever sound card you have.

Don't think that's it, it is sharing with usb and pci bus only, not any
hard drive..... Also, I would think that the other C&C games, and other
programs would have problems also, but they don't... I think it has
something to do with accessing the CDROMs, as the intermittent blanking of
sounds will occur after it is reading the CDroms from the DVD or CDRW
Drive..... It may be how the video files are stored that my computer doesn't
like...

I have an oem soundblaster card. I'll check the gateway site for an
update.

Well, I downloaded the new sound driver, off of the creative web site, and
that fixed the problem, didn't occur to me to update that one.... Thanks for
the help!
