there should be 2 serial numbers.  The generals serial number is just
numbers, no letters.  The zero hour serial is a mixture of both.  Look
around and see if you can't find another serial for the generals.

In addition to what Margolis says about there being two serial numbers, if you
bought your C&C Generals Deluxe from Amazon.com there was a problem, I believe,
with a number of their boxes having invalid CD-key numbers. I understand that
Amazon.com shipped these recalled boxes by mistake. If you contact EA support
(there's anumber in the manuals) they can set you up.

You can also try e-mailing them. Or calling Amazon. I gather that both EA and
Amazon are aware of the problem.
