I like to play the GLA and a friend of mine likes the USA.  We don't rush each other in the beginning but like to take 5 min before war breaks out - we agree on this.

He has his 7-8 heavy tanks with lasers and drones in the front and then has several of those cruise missles behind them.  I can't shoot out his tanks in head-to-head because as soon as I'm in range duking it out, his cruise missiles are crushing me.  I shoot the mobile scuds, but his tank lasers blow them out of they sky before they land.  I have no chance really unless I get an angry mob in there up close before they get whacked by the cruise missiles.

Is there a GLA defense that can take this on?  I've tried a mix of things, but nothing works.  I've never patched the game...

well, in my opinion it is the gla rocket buggies that are almost unbeatable,
so you should be whuppin his arse ;o)  those rocket buggies can sit back out
of range and just hammer the usa forces.

Well, when I use them he still hits me with those cruse missiles.  Those
things are guided - I can't outrun him.  I tried to use a group of 5 of
those buggies and do hit and run but if he's moving, the rockets don't track
in, they impact the ground behind him.  As soon as I am in range, he
launches a cruise missile and takes out 1-2 buggies.  I can't mass them or
he gets splatter frags on me.

I would say use a Terrorist or two and give them fast vehicles like
motorcycles or cars so you can zip behind them and wipe out the cruise
missiles.
