Hi

Could someone tell me wat it is that this unit exactly does (Listening
Outpost)- i have rarely used it and when i have it does'nt appear to do that
much. I know its a rader van but wat is the range of it. Could someone
please tell me how best to use this unit.

Thanks

Lee Hardy

It's a detector unit, like the radar van, but you can also stick 2 infantry
inside (or 5 if you are Shin Fai) who can fire out the windows. Unlike the radar
van, the listening outpost also cloaks when it "sets up" (about 2 seconds after
stopping). I'm not entirely sure if the outpost detects when it is moving,
seeing as how the radar thingy on the top folds down, but it probably does.

Use this unit if you are afraid of stealthed units or have to target artillery
or air against stealthed defenses (i.e. against GLA). It has a pretty long
range, but remember that other units such as the troop crawler and the chaingun
on the overlord can also detect stuff.

Also note that it can serve a similar role as the USA Sentry Drone - park them
near likely avenues of attack and you can get a sense of what your opponent is
doing with the opportunity to do a little damage if it looks like an asssault
force.

if you ever want to be good at infantry general, outpost and troop crawler
are must. I have beaten 10 overlords (fully upgraded) with only 5 outpost
with full troops....and 6 or 7 empirior overlords with 4 outpost with full
troops....its god send......
