Have any of you guys heard of Generals? I mean, it's not limited to 320x200 resolution - how on earth are you people still playing Tiberian Dawn!?

Because Tiberian Dawn is still fun. I still play Starcraft, even Warcraft II. We were playing modernized ports (port = rewritten code to make a program work on a different computer system) of Duke Nukem 3D and DOOM at my LAN party last month. I got 5 "Mighty Boot" kills with Duke, and I can't even count the number of very satisfying double-shotgun Blasts of Death I administered in DOOM. Although we can't play TD multiplayer since everyone is running 2K or XP, I remember playing it only a few years ago. I APC rushed my friend and whacked him in a matter of a few minutes. I like Generals, too, but the older games can be more accessible sometimes. Especially considering that you get TWO CDs with them, it means that there is a (legal) way for other people at a LAN to play. One of the worst things you can have at a LAN party is for everybody to have a bunch of different games and nobody willing to install any of them, leaving you stranded with the few games everybody has. -- Tim "HeXetic" G. www.planetcnc.com

In article <3f679eba$1@news.connect.usq.edu.au>, but only after serious contemplation, Jordon Scott <q1221432@mail.connect.usq.edu.au> put finger to keyboard and produced the following; >Have any of you guys heard of Generals? >I mean, it's not limited to 320x200 resolution - how on earth are you people >still playing Tiberian Dawn!? It's a far superior game. -- Cheers, Chas. "Reality leaves a lot to the imagination".
