I have a strange problem with C&C.  When I am running NOD missions, I
cannot run them using disc # 1.  When it tells me to change discs, the
game freezes.  But if I start with Disc # 2, then it works.  Anyone
else have this error happen?

It's not an error.
You can run the first mission from GDI and NOD from either CD, but 
beyond that, Disc#1 is for the GDI games only and Disc#2 is for NOD
games only
