Use CD one if you want to play GDI, use CD two if you want to play NOD.

P.S. Look for patch files at http://www.westwood.com since the version
that comes on the CD's is a little buggy.

Think about it pal, one is for GDI and the other for NOD pretty obvious
really!
It also makes multiplayer games a lot cheaper you only need to
buy one copy per two players!!!!!!!!

COME ON YOU OTHER DECREPID SOFTWARE HOUSES
WHY DONT YOU DO THE SAME

CD #1 is for GDI and CD #2 is for Nod. Pick your side, and insert the
appropriate CD before playing.

One is the GDI missions and the other is Nod. And westwood wanted to
make it easy to play 2 player games and advertise for free. You can
give a CD to a friend and play a mutiplayer game. If he likes it he'll
go and buy one.

Apart from the GDI/NOD aspect...
The nice people at Westwood also allow you to play a head to head
game with a friend without having to buy a second copy of the game
just give your friend the other CD.
