Free local access is the future.
Cable companies can make a killing on subscriptions and shouldn`t
need to charge for the call.
Besides, the rate at which new cable companies are popping up they`ll
have no choice but to offer free calls due to the massive competition.

Whats to stop us using free voice calls for free data calls anyways?..
...they gonna tap into the call, here the modem and block
the call?....I don`t think so.
